What does RadioCom do for you? It decodes digital and analog signals received by your radio. It also improves the sound quality, which, in the past was only possible expensive DSP-receiver. The signal goes directly into your computer using a full-duplex sound card for processing. You also control your radio via the COM-port and all this without any extra hardware. A level converter (BONITO switchbox) is part of the program package and works with all radios supported. The received signals are filtered and processed and then passed-on to the computer loudspeakers. RadioCom 5 comes with: Filter-Analyzer, Time Spectroscopes, Dual Scope, Audio-Recorder, RTTY, CW, FAX, SSTV, PSK (PSK31, Q- and B-PSK), Synop-Decoder, 3D Scanner and SatTracking. This means you will get everything within in one program ! Up to now the hardware requirements for good SSB-receivers and decoders for processing digital radio messages was extremely high and expensive. With today's normal multimedia-PC a complete new concept could be developed so that the expensive extra filters are replaced and the operating comfort is highly improved. No more expensive hardware analyzer scopes and tools, but everything is visible now on your big-screen computer monitor. It's hard work to understand and program for Digital-Sound-Processing, Frequency-Analyzing and Decoding. In the past you were using separate modems and decoders, now you are using your fast computer. Completely hissed signals received by low cost receivers can be improved by the integrated equalizer/DSP, and it is very convincing to hear and also to see the difference on your monitor. With RadioCom 5 we have created a desktop specially fit to your necessity. The Live-WorkViewer for example facilitates you to receive a weather fax picture, while you are modifying another one in the PicWork window, without interrupting the incoming fax. All desktop elements can be modified to your own liking. The Dual-Scope facilitates to analyze for cause and effect of the signal quality. Spectrum Analyzer, TimeSpectroScope and X/Y-Scope are helpful tools, also included. With the help of the modifiable database of the Frequency-Manager it is possible to save all the complex parameters of radio stations, and to recall them with the click of your mouse: your radio is set accordingly. The database also holds decoder-data for the SynopDecoder and Keplerien data (for sat-receiving). Now you can plan with the Time-Manager different tasks and nothing is missed. The Frq-/Channel-Scanner-Function shows you signal strength, Audio-events and 3D Diagrams. The event-saving makes later analyzing of events with frequency and time possible. And with the Audio-Recorder you can record and replay signals for later analyzing or decoding. SatFax can receive live and synchronous without the normal Doppler effects and displays with high resolution. The included SatTracking-Program allows you to see when and where you can find the satellites on the world map. The AudioController controls all audio functions, drivers and mixers, also the special AudioSquelch and the DSP-filter with the FFT-Equalizer (Fast-Fourier-Transformation). This allows to set several Notch filters in one bandfilter or to create a filter curve with desired form and variable slope with a 2-Hz resolution.
